You’re probably itching for some outdoor fun now that we are seeing enjoyable splashes of sunlight and a bit milder temperatures in Atlanta. Like the spring flowers still waiting eagerly to peek out into the world, you are more than ready to stretch out and start a season of outdoor recreation.

Thankfully, as urban as the city of Atlanta may seem, there are plenty of green spaces and hiking trails to fuel your need for outdoor endurance and artistic adventures.

The Atlanta Botanical Gardens is perfect for a stroll through blooming paths or high above the ground on the suspended walkways on the Canopy Walk. You can enjoy the peaceful natural setting as winter melts back into spring.

If you’re a seasoned climber, or just looking for new ways to explore new recreation and test your body’s strength, you can hang out at one of the rock climbing walls or mountain trails around Atlanta. The Palisades put you in a real life rock climbing setting over the Chattahoochee River. If the weather turns foul again, you can always reach for new heights indoors at Atlanta Rocks. They have monthly competitions, classes, practice schedules, and equipment for sale for all level of climbers.

Don’t keep withering away through winter. Get out and get active around Alexan MetroWest. When you live in the heart of Atlanta you can still find great natural settings to explore!

    Hey everyone!

If you’re looking for something to do outside stop by one of your local REI’s and ask at customer service what activities are going on this month. I know we are expanding our climbing classes and there are always lots of cycling and hiking classes! My boyfriend Kyle and I work at the Perimeter REI, so if you have any questions just ask on my facebook page!

Thanks! The Perimeter REI is pretty convenient to Alexan MetroWest on I-85! If you want to post your link on the Alexan MetroWest Facebook or send me more information, it could really get our residents excited about more opportunities at REI!
